Sleep

I was just watching Live with Kelly & Michael and they were talking about exercise and sleep. Research shows that you sleep better 67% of the time if you vigorously exercise. If you don't exercise you only sleep well about 36% of the time. It does not matter what time of day that you exercise. I can tell this week that I'm sleeping much better. No caffeine and exercise.

The scare...

Over a year ago I made a promise that I would get back to the old me. Well, I have made excuses and made excuses to the point of only being down 5 lbs in the last year. I thought "at least i didnt gain." Tuesday night I had the biggest scare of my life. My husband started having chest pains. His heart was visibly pounding out of his chest. I had to rush him to the ER where his heart rate was over 150 bpm. He was originally in sinus tachycardia with PACs and evolved into atrial fibrillation. All that went through my head was "I was Mary Ellen's age when my daddy died. I can't let this happen to her". With atrial fibrillation you chance of stroke greatly increases. I vowed then that this is real. This isn't just for me but for our whole family. We have to change. We have to make better choices. No more fast food because we are too tired to cook. No more pizza because it is easy. No, we have to make the effort to get healthy and take the little extra time...
