Two weeks post op! I am currently down 30 lbs! I walked 4 miles Sunday and Monday. Today I met with a trainer at the gym to actually learn all the machines. Friday is my post op visit. Hopefully I am on target. I'm feeling much better and can't wait to see what the future holds.
Hard to believe that less than 3 weeks ago I was living on 3000+ calories a day. The past 5 days I've been lucky to get 200 calories in. Just not hungry. I am working to get enough fluids. This has been a big challenge. Rest has been a challenge as well. I feel like I constantly need to be on the go. My goal this week is to increase my fluid in take. As of today I have lost 19.4 lbs!!!
Yesterday I underwent gastric sleeve surgery. This basically reduced the size of my stomach to about 25% of its size. This is a tool to help me get where I want to be. Here is a picture from right before I left for the hospital. Hopefully with time this picture will be just a thing of the past. 269 lbs down from 280 lbs prior to liquid diet.
Today was day 7 of just liquids. Honestly, I feel much better than I have in a while. I don't feel bloated or have the stomach pains I've been having. I am probably not getting enough calories but nothing really sounds good. I can do this! One week until surgery. I'm nervous but I know it will be worth it in the end.
After many years of battling my weight, I have made a huge decision to get the weight off. On May 22th I will take a huge step to get to my ideal weight and health. In order to prepare I have had to do a liquid diet. This is day 4. I survived but it is getting hard. I will be keeping up with my journey here. Please pray for me as I take this big step.
